Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Managing the strategy/policy program, advocating and managing policy issues (e.g., social, political, legal, technology).
- Leading the company’s engagement and campaign with key internal stakeholders regarding government affairs on priority issues, strategies and/or programs.
- Developing the policy program by shaping and contributing to the Microsoft KSA policy agenda to address complex government issues/affairs and business priorities, developing and/or recommending high-impact solutions to advance the agenda while managing risk and consequences.
- Developing and facilitating program outreach and execution to advance Microsoft’s policy and/or political agenda.
- Advising on and responding to key strategic issues, recommending priority actions.
- Ensuring alignment with stakeholder positions, escalating matters when needed.
- Directing and coordinating complex or conflicting policy with Microsoft’s goals and strategies.
- Working to enhance the company’s reputation by leading the communications and messaging framework for government affairs.
- Participating in and assisting in the development of internal/external events to advance government affairs objectives and engaging on social media.
- Develop and build a network of relationships and influence partnerships with coalitions, the public sector, relevant interest groups and industry thought leaders to achieve desired regulatory and/or legislative outcomes.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- A bachelor’s degree in public policy, public administration, law or a related field and at least 4 years of experience in government affairs, corporate affairs or public policy.
- Or at least 6 years of experience in government affairs, corporate affairs, public policy or government.
- Significant experience in policy development or government affairs in the legal department of an international corporation, business, trade association, consulting firm, government or multilateral organization (or similar experience in an international law firm).
Preferably:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience developing and managing strategic relationships to advocate and influence public policy/technology priorities.
- Familiarity with the legal, policy and regulatory challenges facing the technology industry in Saudi Arabia.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills in both English and Arabic.
