Opportunity description

Al Tayer Group announces a job opportunity for a freshly experienced Procurement Officer in the United Arab Emirates.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the formulation and implementation of the procurement strategy to ensure best results in the market.
  • Building strong relationships with different brands.
  • Analyzing market trends, consumer preferences, sales and seasonal demands to formulate purchasing practices in line with consumer/online demand.
  • Supporting the Procurement Officer in analyzing purchasing performance, recommending re-orders when needed in consultation with buyers and communicating relevant information to all relevant parties in the planning and supply chain team.
  • Returning all defective goods to the supplier with the appropriate red debit to ensure the department receives the credit value.
  • Ensuring that all samples are returned to the supplier when no longer required.
  • Conducting regular warehouse visits to resolve any discrepancies in shipments and coordinating with suppliers in case of any discrepancies/damages to urge them to take immediate corrective action.
  • Assisting in the efficient delivery of orders and payment of goods to minimize the possibility of problems.
  • Communicating with brands regarding opportunities to participate in key events, coordinating and updating tracking tools.
  • Maintaining an accurate database of vendor agreements and sending completed vendor agreements to the merchandise planning team.
  • Integrate purchase feedback reports and provide buyers with reports and recommendations for each brand portfolio. Enter orders into the system as soon as buyers return from their purchase journey and ensure minimal discrepancies.

Eligibility criteria

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in cosmetics buying/selling along with strong knowledge of the beauty industry.
  • Strong negotiation and project management skills, as well as proficiency in data analysis.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and brands/managers.
