Opportunity description
Gems Education announces a job opportunity as a music teacher in the United Arab Emirates. The organization is looking for an experienced, inspiring and dedicated Music Teacher to join its Performing Arts team from September 2024. Music is taught across the school's curriculum from Foundation Stage through to Stage 4, and also in the comprehensive Enrichment/ECA program, which occupies A high-level role within the school, which is evident in various parties and events inside or outside the school. The department includes a large number of award-winning choirs and orchestras in various genres of music including classical theatre, jazz, rock and pop, so you must be keen to make a significant impact in this area, and have a clear vision for developing this in the department.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Teaching across primary and secondary levels depending on your experience.
- Leading a variety of bands.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- An accredited professional educational qualification such as B.A or B.Ed. Or PGCE, PGDE or equivalent. (University degrees will not be accepted remotely or through open education unless obtaining an equivalency from the Ministry of Education).
- It is preferable to have experience in HPL (High Performance Learning).
- All certificates must be certified by the relevant authorities.
- Excellent practical experience in music education for at least two years, with comprehensive knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
- Up-to-date knowledge of procedures relating to the care and protection of children. You must be able to provide a letter of experience to confirm this.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Interpersonal skills as you will work closely with students and parents.
- Proficiency in English.
- Experience teaching music at the primary and secondary levels.
