Unifonic offers a job opportunity as an AI Engineering Manager for Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the company's AI initiatives by linking technical leadership with effective human resource management. The Unifonic Engineering team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems and technologies that power Unifonic's solutions, working closely with other departments to ensure that products and services meet customer needs.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Serving as a technical authority on the design, engineering, and integration of AI models into the product ecosystem.
- Leading the evaluation, selection, and implementation of AI/ML frameworks and tools, best practices, and ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Participating in hands-on programming, prototyping solutions, and code reviews to maintain the highest quality standards and guiding the team through complex technical challenges.
- Overseeing and improving the AI development lifecycle, including model training, validation, implementation, and continuous improvement.
- Leading a team of AI engineers, providing regular mentoring, feedback, and professional development.
- Setting clear performance expectations, conducting performance reviews, and identifying growth opportunities for team members.
- Collaborating with recruiting and HR to identify, attract, and retain top AI engineering talent, ensuring the team's continued growth and success.
- Leading a team of AI engineers, providing regular mentoring and evaluations, and supporting their professional development.
- Setting clear performance expectations, conducting performance reviews, and identifying growth opportunities for team members.
- Work closely with the AI Development Manager, product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineering leaders to translate business requirements into executable technical roadmaps and engineering plans.
- Ensure seamless integration of AI capabilities into existing and future products, and partner with Platforms, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to optimize implementations.
- Communicate effectively on technical topics with non-technical stakeholders, making recommendations, and reporting on progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in model governance, performance monitoring, and compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
- Monitor engineering metrics and KPIs, leveraging data-driven insights to improve development velocity, code quality, and team efficiency.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of software development experience, including at least 3 years in AI/ML engineering or related technologies.
- A proven track record of leading, mentoring, or managing engineering teams, preferably in high-growth or innovative technology environments.
- Hands-on experience with a range of AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow and PyTorch), advanced modeling techniques (Natural Language Processing, Recommender Systems), and production-level model deployments.
- Proficiency in Python, cloud platforms (e.g., OCI, AWS, GCP), CI/CD workflows, and modern software engineering practices.
- Excellent communication and interaction skills, with the ability to motivate teams and build productive cross-functional relationships.
