Opportunity description

ABB Group is looking for a qualified Marketing Communications Manager to join the team and work in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for 2021. In this role, you will plan and realize integrated marketing campaigns to raise awareness, generate leads and establish customer loyalty. This requires liaising with stakeholders in the local, regional, as well as the global organization.

Duties & responsibilities

Planning & implementation:

  • Align with Division marketing communications strategy and positioning and locally drive the Division communications strategy, planning, monitoring, reporting and take over responsibility for the budget.
  • Conduct market research to build knowledge about current developments of targeted industry verticals, competition, and customer preferences to develop marketing communications strategies that connect with local customer needs and align with business and growth initiatives.
  • Execute marketing communications campaigns across all identified marketing tactics and tools.
  • Work closely with the global marketing communications team to prepare the market introduction plans for new products, solutions, and services, manage their execution locally and interface with other Local Divisions where applicable.
  • Analyze marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.

Digital communications:

  • Manage digital communications for the Hub in cooperation with the global Division Digital Communications Manager and on local country communications representatives to amplify the messages.
  • Localize and maintain web and intranet pages, run online (advertising) campaigns and distribute news on relevant channels, i.e. demand generation, email marketing, digital marketing and advertising, marketing automation, nurture campaigns, social media.

Events and customer experience:

  • Prepare and coordinate local trade shows, exhibitions and customer events including logistics and promotion, ensuring a 360 experience for customers, channels, or employees. Integrate global message and brand into the booth layout and theme.
  • Identify events for new markets and build business cases for attendance and involvement where needed. Work across Local Divisions to ensure a comprehensive story and approach.
  • Develop the annual marketing strategy to increase customer focus and ROI for Customer Experience Center(s) with innovative ideas and new technologies.

Internal communications:

  • Manage internal communications by cascading the global messages to the Hub and Local Divisions.
  • Cascade HSE Division messages to nurture a culture of health and safe behavior. Roll out global and develop local employee engagement and reward programs.
  • Define format and set up regular cadences to share local leadership strategy and messages together with the Hub Division Manager.
  • Establish a strong relationship with local country teams to ensure message consistency and knowledge of the offering as well as amplification of the Division stories in the markets.

Content and media relations:

  • Leverage globally produced stories to amplify the reach.
  • Localize globally produced marketing materials to support the regional sales teams.
  • Identify and highlight key wins, successes, case studies, and technology applications to produce local content and stories to be leveraged globally and locally for online and offline use to build thought leadership and support sales in establishing customer loyalty.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a marketing or marketing communications in B2B environment (prefer technical/ industrial environment).
  3. Commercial awareness and track record in translating local market needs into actions and monitor and report on progress.
  4. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage several large projects at any given time.
  5. Open-minded, with an interest in technology and strategic thinking capability and ready to explore new things and challenges every day.
  6. Self-starter, autonomous.
  7. Strong networker and team player with influential and change management skills.
  8. Proficient with MS Office.
  9. Familiar with professional use of text, graphics and illustration tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite).
  10. Hands-on experience with web content management tools (e.g. Adobe CMS) is a plus.
  11. Familiar with marketing automation tools (e.g. Pardot) and SalesForce.com.
  12. Fluency in English (written and spoken).
