Job Opportunity at Aramco: Safety Advisor

Aramco is offering a job opportunity in KSA as a Safety Advisor in KSA.

• Act as single point of contact for assigned proponent organizations.
• Provide ongoing support to proponent organizations to assist them in implementing the Saudi Aramco Safety Management System, and meeting safety objectives and expectations. This includes assisting proponent organizations in developing safety processes related to risk assessment and management, safety training, asset integrity, safe operations, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, incident investigations, etc.

• As the successful candidate, you must hold a Bachelor degree in one of the following: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• You will have 7 years of experience as a safety professional in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries, including a strong track record in delivering results. The experience should be comprehensive, covering both occupational and process safety.. 
• You must have an excellent ability to communicate in English with peers as well as members of management, and be able to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
• Have knowledge of modern safety management systems, processes, and techniques applicable to the oil and gas industry; as well as international fire and safety codes, recommended practices, and specifications.

Desired Competencies

The following are some of the highly desired competencies for a successful candidate:

• Knowledge/experience of risk assessment and mitigation methodologies, such as the development and review of risk assessments, job safety analysis (JSA), and method statements.
• Understanding of the hazards related to oil and gas producing/processing and their relevant controls (e.g., the hazards associated with hydrogen sulfide and other hazardous materials, and plant isolation).
• Knowledge of critical, yet universal safety tasks and control methodologies related to general work (e.g., work at height, confined space entry, and working in or around excavations).
• Knowledge of work permit/authorization processes and their field application.
• Knowledge of job task measurement methodologies (i.e., field-based audits/inspections of work processes related to critical and hazardous tasks).
• Experience in contractor safety and management of contractors at work sites (e.g., contractor selection and prequalification, monitoring of work site compliance, and measurement of performance). In addition, a working experience of strategies for improving contractor performance is an advantage.
• Experience working in a dedicated HSE role during execution of major maintenance activities (i.e., T&I), and of major project upgrade within an oil and gas facility.
• Understanding of the principles and values of reporting, classifying and investigating all incidents, as well as experience in incident investigations and the determination of root causes and proper recommendations to prevent recurrence.
