Deloitte is offering a job opportunity in Melbourne, VIC, and Brisbane, QLD, AU as an Analyst / Senior Analyst - Energy & Climate Policy Advisory, that will be joining a team of passionate and innovative people to support policy design, analysis, implementation, and evaluation to support our clients realise opportunity and manage risks associated with the transition to a net zero future, with a particular focus on emerging industrial policy. Our advice applies a variety of analytical frameworks, models and techniques informed by contemporary policy settings, economic theories, and market experience.
Duties & responsibilities
- Work with state and federal policymakers seeking to address some of the most complex challenges in our transition to a net zero and sustainable economy
- Work closely with industry clients to understand their business needs and provide strategic advice on how to respond to changes in the economy
- Design and evaluate industrial policy settings to balance public value and market outcomes
- Communicate and present policy analysis and recommendations, deepening your client relationships and industry knowledge
- Work on multiple projects and publications in an agile, fast-paced environment
- Be part of a growing national team delivering projects within a fast-changing sector which is only increasing in prominence
Eligibility criteria
- A passion for policy development and its ability to make a positive impact that matters to society
- 1-5 years’ experience in public policy roles and strong knowledge of government institutions, systems and processes
- The ability to communicate complex analysis in clear, non-technical terms to a range of busy audiences
- Excellent written communication skills, with experience preparing policy recommendations, briefing notes, and policy presentations
- Experience in comparative policy analysis, and qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision-making within complex and uncertain environments
- A team player with a determination to succeed and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems
- The ability to learn quickly and deliver reliably to a high quality
- The successful applicant will ideally be based in either Brisbane or Melbourne. Exceptional applicants who are based in other locations will also be considered.
- Experience in energy and climate policy is not a requirement.
