Deloitte is offering a job opportunity in Sydney, NSW, AU as an Operations Manager join Consulting Quality & Risk team and provide a range of support to our Business Leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for a thorough and talented operations professional to join a growing team!

Duties & responsibilities

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the operational tasks that underpin the entire engagement lifecycle – from pursuit management through to delivery of the engagement. Tasks may include (but limited to): 

  • Lead a small team of Consultants and Coordinators, in a fast-paced business critical environment
  • Ensure all activities at each stage of the pursuit and engagement lifecycle have been delivered by the team in a timely manner, including analysis of new opportunities, logistical support (scheduling meetings, taking minutes, chasing actions) for the various risk management forums that provide governance over new opportunities, and logistical support for the various quality management controls that we apply to in-flight engagements 
  • Own all operational reporting to ensure completion in a timely manner, while meeting the needs of Q&R Leadership and Consulting Executives
  • Interact with all levels within Q&R (and the business) to help triage issues and offer solutions

Eligibility criteria

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in a professional service, legal or corporate environment at the Manager or Senior Manager level.
  • Great communication skills and an ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confident enough to articulate a position to our leaders but relatable enough to be an effective trainer/support for more junior members of our team and business
  • An amazing team player but willing to take ownership of tasks and drive initiatives to conclusion.
  • A curious mind to solve problems and a proactive attitude to your work and professional development.
  • Genuine passion for working with our business to recognise risks and identify innovative solutions.
  • The ability to pivot across a range of tasks and enjoy working on a variety of collaborative activities.
  • Strong time management skills and an ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Experience of Microsoft applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams, required, plus a willingness and ability to rapidly come up to speed with our back-office systems.
