Job Opportunity at GEMS Education: School Principal

GEMS Education is offering a job opportunity as a School Principal in Cairo, Egypt. As it’s looking to appoint a Principal from September 2023 to prepare for welcoming families to school in September 2024. 

The founding Principal will be responsible for the following:

• Overseeing the creation and implementation of the school’s vision and guiding statements
• Contribute to the creation and development of whole school strategic planning
• Manage the workflow process ensuring the school is fully prepared to offer outstanding education from the first day it opens its doors

• Caring, energentic and keen to join an ambitious, rapidly growing platform of schools
• An outstanding educator
• An inspirational and motivational leader with high expectations
• Someone with a proven record of accomplishment in raising standards
• Has the ability to analyse data, develop strategic plans, set targets, monitor and evaluate progress towards set goals
• Someone who is well motivated, innovative, able to inspire and support others
• Develop and oversee assessment and reporting

The successful applicants will have the following:

• Degree certification in addition to a certified teaching qualification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent essential.
• Experience of teaching in an inquiry based programme is essential
• In addition to being fluent in English, an ability to speak an additional language such as German would be an asset
• NPQH/ Master’s degree or equivalent desirable
• Has a clear vision for education that can be articulated with confidence
• Has a detailed and up to date knowledge of developments in pedagogy related to inquiry-based learning.
• Makes decisions that make a positive impact
• Has a passion for teaching and learning as well as the wellbeing of children, staff and parents
• Is an active listener and a reflective leader; communicating effectively with children, staff and parents
• Creates a culture where staff are motivated, trusted, and encouraged to take initiative and make decisions where they will feel supported to develop their own skills as leaders
• What you may be lacking in school leadership experience, you will make up for in enthusiasm and mindset. 
• Has excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to meet challenges with optimism
