Opportunity description

Hikma is offering a job opportunity in Jordan as a Sr. Associate Scientist, will be responsible for Auditing the laboratory documents for assigned projects, including but not to the following:

  • Analyzes data from qualification tests to determine whether systems and processes meet required criteria and specifications.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with appropriate departments and staff regarding the scheduling or implementation of qualification testing. 

Duties & responsibilities

  • Perform and follow up the calibration activities for AR instruments (UHPLC with different detectors like: UV, DAD, RI, FL and CAD, LC-MS/MS, IC, ICP-MS, GC, DSC, X-Ray, UV-Spectrophotometer, Dissolution systems, analytical balances…etc) at Bayader and Sahab sites according to the related SOP’s, cGMPs and established regulatory requirements in order to comply with regulations.
  • Maintaining and updating records of calibrated instruments within the Analytical Research function.
  • Follow up the preventive maintenance, maintenance, and housekeeping of laboratory instruments.
  • Preparing calibration and preventive maintenance schedules and keep them updated.
  • Work with Engineering to maintain equipment validation procedures to current standards.
  • Enter calibration events with data into Equipment Management Database (SAP).
  • Prepare equipment for qualification studies and execute qualification and validation studies according to approved protocols and SOPs.
  • Coordinate with Validation Department to prepare and approve the risk assessment, change control, and qualification files.
  • Performing mapping for Stability chambers, refrigerators, freezers and controlled areas.


Eligibility criteria

  • Strong background in instrument qualification, including HPLC, LC-MSMS, GC-MSMS.
  • Have good experience on a modern mass spectrometry laboratory containing both advanced GC/MS and LC/MS instrumentation, including responsibility for up to 4 modern mass spectrometers and supervision/training of staff.
  • BSc degree in chemistry (Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Chemical Engineer) with strong experience in chromatography, mass spectrometry (LC/MS, LC/MS/MS, GC/MS) and other spectroscopic techniques. 
  • 2-5 years of experience in a mass spectrometry laboratory, either in the pharmaceutical industry or another appropriate setting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, English language, and the use of MS Office (Word, Excel) are required.
  • Have good experience in the quality system and reviewing data.
