Job Opportunity at TRT in Turkey: Senior Data Engineer

TRT Network is offering a job opportunity in Istanbul / Turkey as a Senior Data Engineer.

He/She will be responsible for:

1. Mentoring young talents towards their speciality
2. Design, build and maintain our data architecture to address demanding requirements
3. Monitoring the quality of deliverables
4. Create and update documentation around all services
5. Continuous monitoring and be alerted on any interruption
6. Working for the availability of real-time streaming data as well as historical bulk data either in structured or unstructured forms
7. Aggregating data from public and private APIs as well scraping unstructured data sources
8. Contributing to continuous improvement within the organisation by sharing your knowledge and experience

1. Although an academic background in a related subject would be appreciated, what more important is a passion for creating robust workflows that work flawlessly with complex requirements. We believe all team members must carry a problem-solving personality with an openmind. Familiarity with Data Analytics and Machine Learning objectives is nice to have for this position.
2. Excellent analytical skills and strategic thinking, creative problem solver capabilities
3. Strong intellectual curiosity and proactive thinking
4. A critical thinker with very strong attention to detail
5. Degree in a computational field related to mathematics, computer science or other related data-centric areas
6. More than 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering tasks
7. Excellent command of Python and appreciation of clean coding practices
8. Good command of software architecture knowledge is required
9. Coding experience in Java is a plus
10. Excellent programming skills, computational complexity knowledge and computer architecture awareness
11. Working experience with big data using distributed systems such as Spark, EMR, Hadoop
12. Application experience with real-time streaming data using technologies like Redis, Kafkaand Elastic Search
13. Production-level scalable deployment experience using REST APIs via Kubernetes containers
14. Data warehousing experience using Redshift, BigQuery, etc.
15. Experience working in Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban)
16. Proficiency in Linux environment
17. Strong interpersonal credibility, reliability, and service mentality with high ethical standards
18. Good written and oral communication skills in English
