UNESCO is offering a job opportunity in Hamburg / Germany as an HR and Admin Assistant. Under the overall authority of the Director of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning and the supervision of the Finance & Administrative Officer (AO), the incumbent will act as HR and Admin Assistant and contribute to the implementation of the programmes of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning.
Duties & responsibilities
HR Management:
- Manage SAP action on service contracts.
- Assist AO in HR administrative matters.
Finance Accountabilities
- Acts as Back stop for Finance Assistant in Processing payments; check that documents are complete, correct, and compliant with the rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Manage Fund Reservation.
Other Admin Support:
- Act as alternate Fixed Asset focal. Maintain and monitor and transmit inventory records of non-expendable equipment.
- Undertake any other task as requested by the Finance & Administrative Officer or the Director.
Eligibility criteria
Education: Completed University degree with major in Business Administration, Human Resource, or relevant field.
Work Experience: Two (2) to five (5) years’ relevant experience in HR and administrational tasks.
Skills/Competencies:
- You have a proven ability to work independently.
- You have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- You are proficient in modern office procedures, i.e., the MS Office package, a well-known database as well as Adobe Acrobat.
Languages: You have excellent knowledge of English and German (written and spoken).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills/Competencies:
Knowledge in SAP R/3 would be an asset.
Knowledge of UNESCO norms, administrative procedures, and standard practices
Languages: Good command knowledge of French would be an asset.
