World Health Organization is offering a Job Opportunity in Egypt as a Medical Officer.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the generation, consolidation of updated information and evidence on local epidemiology and burden of diseases targeted by new vaccines in affected countries.
  • Analyze data and information on Expanded Programme on Immunization and provide feedback to stakeholders on the impact of newly introduced vaccines in the national immunization schedule of the country(ies).
  • Formulate strategies to strengthen and extend existing health-care networks.
  • Guide Member States to include new vaccines and technologies in their national health/immunization strategic plans in line with WHO recommendations on new vaccines and technologies.
  • Develop and disseminate guidelines for evaluation of the impact of newly introduced vaccines in the national immunization schedule of Member States.

Eligibility criteria

Education:

  • Essential: Mastersdegree in medicine or health sciences or public health or relevant field.
  • Desirable: University degree in medicine, pharmacy, or veterinary sciences.
Experience:

  • Essential: At least seven years of experience, with proven international exposure, in strengthening routine immunization programme or public health. Excellent field experience developing EPI strategic and operational plan, manage vaccine preventable disease surveillance
  • Desirable
  1. Experience in communicable diseases or immunization policy development.
  2. Experience of working in low and middle-income countries.
  3. Experience in formulation of evidence based recommendations (e.g., GRADE process).
  4. Training in vaccinology, communicable disease epidemiology.
