Amazon offers a job opportunity in Egypt as a Work, Health & Safety Officer. You will be responsible for partnering with a site operations team in a Fulfillment Center to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in the processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for the associates. You must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise, and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train operations leaders in Amazon WHS policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating the company's safety standards at their site. You will work to identify best practices and incorporate these standard methodologies into the company's standards to continuously improve the safety landscape.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS standards/Policies.
- Deliver on-time and quality projects to operations.
- Analyze safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.
- Ensure proper incident investigation and closure of corrective action and preventive action.
- Perform frequent site safety audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other FCs.
- Audit record-keeping practices and ensure Gensuite entries are aligned with global WHS standards and local regulations.
- Spend time at the fulfillment centers and seek input from Safety teams, Associates, and leaders on safety program improvement opportunities. Ensure open communication on the status of progress and resolution against these suggestions.
- Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required safety training.
- Implement the best practices at the site.
- Implement and ensure safe contractor management at the site.
- Work along with the facility team and ensure preventive maintenance of all Fire protection and emergency equipment.
- Ensure basic fire fighting training and first aid training requirements.
- You will ensure a close tracker of on-site risk assessment findings and make the Site lead aware of the requirements.
- Perform frequent site safety audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury.
- Audit the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
- Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required safety training.

Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- 3+ years of growing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- Engineering or Diploma with NEBOSH certification with 2+ years Amazon work experience (or)
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, ergonomics, or a related field.
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
- Good communicator in English & local language.
- Be flexible regarding shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
It's preferred to have:
- NEBOSH qualification and strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, ergonomics, or a related field.
- Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
- Experienced in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificates.
