ABB offers a job opportunity in Germany as a Communications Specialist. The role of Communications Specialist Media Relations/Internal Communication within Global Markets Germany, Electrification, is to develop and implement strategic communication plans and key messaging to educate and inform the key target groups via trade media and to inform and engage the employees within the relevant locations. You will ensure executional excellence for the relevant communications measures in line with brand positioning, corporate messaging guidelines and global strategy.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- As media relations person for the German trade press you are responsible for the activities related to Smart Power, Distribution Solutions and E-Mobility in the local market supporting product launches and general awareness of the business within the key target groups, in alignment with the global media relations community and the local product marketing teams and sales. This includes:
- Developing media content (reference stories, application cases, product releases, interviews, statements, thought leadership pieces, etc.) and designing distribution and publication strategy.
- Drafting and implementing promotional strategies and media campaigns.
- Designing and implementing local trade press events.
- Preparing briefings for important media appointments and interviews for defined spokespeople.
- Handling inquiries from German trade media representatives.
- Monitoring media coverage.
- Managing external editors and service providers.
- As a member of the internal communications team, you will support the following activities:
- Editorial planning for analog and digital communication.
- Creation of editorial contributions for internal communications in cooperation with specialist departments.
- Managing external editors and service providers.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- From 0 to 3 years of experience in Marketing, Product Marketing, or Communications, working as a Specialist within B2B.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, economics, engineering, or equivalent.
- Exceptional communication skills in both written and spoken skills in German and English.
- Knowledge of video cutting & web programming would be helpful.
- General knowledge of communication and marketing tools with a will to understand technical challenges and solutions.
- A customer-focused mindset and a professional “can-do” attitude.
