World Health Organization is offering a Job Opportunity in Germany as a Data Scientist.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Research and identify sources of information related to public health emergencies.
  • Carry out analysis and develop information products, such as presentations, activity reports, etc. to communicate technical information to technical partners with particular attention to data about outbreak and emergency response and interventions.
  • Actively participate and collaborate in the development and implementation of state-of-the-art analysis-sharing and dissemination strategies within a planned framework, aims and objectives.
  • Participate in the design of new tools and adapt data and analysis in existing tools, to ensure transparent development and sharing of analysis and insights.

Eligibility criteria

Education:

  • Essential: First university degree in epidemiology, demography, statistics, health sciences, or a related discipline that includes quantitative methods.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate diploma in any of the above areas.
Experience:

  • Essential:
  1. At least two years' professional work experience in data analysis or data visualization.
  2. Demonstrable experience documenting processes and/or writing scientific research articles.
  3. Experience working directly with internal and external partners to define requirements for data analysis and reporting.
  • Desirable: Experience in the analysis of infectious disease data using surveillance data and context data. Experience in WHO or UN, UN Agencies an asset.
