Job Opportunity in Germany as a Senior Legal Counsel

Delivery Hero is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for International Employment Law at Germany.

You will be responsible for:

• You will be part of a team of international employment lawyers overseeing the legal challenges of the gig-economy, with a particular emphasis on employment law and platform work.
• Through a variety of projects (e.g. M&A transactions, restructurings, fintech initiatives, public policy, etc.) you will advise Delivery Hero SE on employment law related topics such as reclassification of workers, unions and workers’ representatives, collective negotiation, outsourcing of services, immigration requirements, tax and social security obligations.
• Working closely with the international team and leveraging external law firms across the globe, you will oversee employment related disputes, litigations, investigations and administrative proceedings in the LATAM region.
• You will closely monitor legal trends and legislative changes concerning platform work globally, and you will play a key role educating and training internal stakeholders on relevant legal topics.
• You will report directly into the Head of the Legal Logistics team and you will have direct exposure to senior management levels in the international markets and central headquarters.
• You are open to travel internationally if necessary, although not for more than 10% of your working time in a year.

You must have:

• Be fully proficient in English (this will be your main working language). Being fluent in German, Spanish or Arabic will be a great plus. 
• Be a qualified and practicing employment lawyer in any jurisdiction, and you bring at least 6 years of post-qualification work experience (in a reputable firm or as in-house counsel) advising on employment law matters. 
• An excellent understanding of the interactions among different areas of law and, most importantly, the interplay among tax, social security, immigration and employment law, and you have experience on litigation matters.
• International experience, either working abroad and/or coordinating international legal advice on employment related matters.
• Be solution oriented, structured and are able to communicate effectively in an executive manner.
• Be an absolute team player with good people management and interpersonal skills, and are willing to work collaboratively.
• You are already based in or willing to relocate to Berlin and soon as practicable.
