Opportunity description

Microsoft is offering a job opportunity as a Community Engagement Lead – Tokyo, Japan (Up to 50% work from home).

Duties & responsibilities

  • Strategy/Program Management: Manages and executes on Microsoft Philanthropy strategies and/or programs related to corporate social responsibility across Japan, with a focus on digital skilling programs, employee engagement, nonprofit capacity building programs, and disaster response programs. 
  • Business, Technical, and Societal Expertise: Contributes to and/or implements solutions for advancing Microsoft Philanthropy’s agenda, while managing risks and consequences. 
  • Representing Microsoft: Communicates Microsoft’s perspective on Microsoft Philanthropy issues and garners the support of external and internal stakeholders to contribute to the advancement of Microsoft’s CSR agenda, especially in Japan. 
  • External Relationships: Develops partnerships with nonprofit, advocacy, community-based, and related groups to advance Microsoft Philanthropies programs. 
  • Internal Collaboration: Supports the execution of strategies that promote corporate social responsibility and other key businesses objectives. 
  • Other: Embody our culture and values 

Eligibility criteria

  • 5+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area.
  • Professional-level fluency in both English and Japanese languages.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideally 7+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area.  
  • 3+ years experience working in or with a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong program management skills, ideally managing a corporate social responsibility or related program.
