Al Futtaim offers a job opportunity in UAE as a category manager for menswear. You will be responsible for the BU Strategy to drive sales and cash margin and is accountable for achieving the Key Business KPI’s of Sales, Cash Margin, Markdown Cost and Closing Stock. You will control the Space and OTB Planning plus Product Selection as well as Team Management and Team Development ensuring high energy and engagement whilst building and maintaining effective Cross-Functional relationships, including those with the Host Brand.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  1. Formulate Annual Business Plan and BU Strategy.
  2. Constantly search for Business Opportunities to increase Sales and Cash Margin.
  3. Manage BU WSSI.
  4. Sales and OTB planning.
  5. Plan appropriate Sales and Cash Margin by Department and Range.
  6. Plan appropriate Sales and Cash Margin by Store and Region.
  7. Plan appropriate Space for each Department/ Range in each Store.
  8. Plan appropriate OTB and Options by T Department/ Range.
  9. Size Cut Strategy by Department/ Market.
  10. Appropriate Good/ Better/ Best Offer.
  11. Authoritative Product Statements on Hero Product.
  12. Product Selection.
  13. Detailed Preparation for UK Buying Fairs.
  14. Clear IBO Strategy.
  15. Opportunity Buys to Support Marketing Strategy.
  16. Spend Control.
  17. Margin Optimization.
  18. Weekly Team Meeting and Actions.
  19. Weekly Store Communication (GM Action News).
  20. Define and Manage Replenishment Strategy by Type of Product/ Market.
  21. Implement Robust Promotional Calendar.
  22. Market awareness.
  23. Report on Key Actions to remain Price Competitive.
  24. Report on Key Missed Opportunities.
  25. Conduct Quarterly SWOT with Store Champions.
  26. Understand and engage with swiftly changing market conditions.
  27. Enthusiasm for the transition of the product to the Digital Environment.
  28. Stakeholder engagement.
  29. Build good relationships with category manager colleagues within M&S.
  30. Build strong relationships with M&S Operations Team, VM Team, and Marketing Team.
  31. Build solid working relationships with the UK.
  32. Engage team with smart Objectives, inclusion in the ‘Bigger Picture’ plus continued Feedback.
  33. Role model Al-Futtaim Way Behaviours and M&S Values.
  34. Menswear accounts for up to 25% of Turnover and is the key Business Unit to drive Consumer Awareness and Loyalty.
  35. M&S MENA currently operates in 7 Markets: KSA, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, and Oman.
  36. You must be able to travel to the above Markets plus to the UK to attend Seasonal Buying Fairs.
  37. Flexible Hours required during Buying Season.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Minimum 8 Years' Experience in Fashion Buying and Merchandising.
