Job Opportunity in UAE as a Navigation Specialist

Flydubai announces a job opportunity in UAE as a Navigation Specialist. You will be the subject matter expert on all navigation services matters, including administration and control of current or future flight planning systems and electronic briefing packs, production of route planning and flight planning data, control and provision of charting content, assessment of airfields and routes to ensure safe and efficient flight operations, management and provision of overflight clearances, control of aircraft navigation databases, technical analysis of aerodromes including onsite inspections, and to represent flydubai at navigation related meetings and forums.

You will be responsible for:

1. Supervise, mentor, and train Navigation Officers to ensure continuous development of their knowledge and skills.
2. SME for the company flight planning system with responsibility for accurate administration of the system to enable safe and efficient planning.
3. Oversee Crew Briefing System to ensure flight crew receive accurate and concise information.
4. Coordinate with vendors for implementation of business requirements and system improvements.
5. Manage provision of scheduled and ad-hoc overflight clearance to ensure faultless delivery.
6. Carry out technical analysis of airports for management consideration, including on-site inspections as required, performance calculations, categorization, and risk assessments.
7. Carry out regular reviews of all network airports to ensure operational efficiencies and accurate relevant publications.
8. Provide support to flydubai Flight Dispatch.
9. Ensure all navigational matters are in compliance with current and upcoming regulations.
10. Coordinate and consult with relevant internal departments and external parties to ensure accuracy and consistency of the navigation product.  
11. Maintain awareness of industry activities, and actively participate in research for future systems and enhancements.
12. Represent the department and flydubai as required at relevant meetings, events, and conferences.

You must have:

Minimum Qualification:

• Degree or a level equivalent, with requisite IT skills.

Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar or Dispatch/Ops Control based role (airline, military, or aviation focused vendor). 

Knowledge/Skills:

• Supervisory experience.
• Flight planning experience.
• AIP knowledge and understanding.
• Practical application of flight planning system maintenance.
• Previous experience of undertaking airport technical evaluations.
• Good aircraft performance knowledge (experience with B737 operations an advantage).

Additional Requirements:

• Arabic, Russian, or Persian language skills would be an advantage.
