Opportunity description
WSP is offering a job opportunity in UAE as a Electrical Engineer.
Duties & responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing all aspects of electrical systems from construction to commissioning stage.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
- Review and evaluate engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents related to the substation.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to procure equipment, materials, and services necessary for project execution.
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to verify the integrity and performance of electrical installations.
- Address technical issues and resolve challenges encountered during the construction and operation phases of projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project team members, subcontractors, and clients as needed.
- Prepare comprehensive progress reports, documentation, and as-built drawings for client review and approval.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to electrical engineering, and substations.
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, electrical design software, and other relevant engineering tools.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and components used in substations.
- Experience with power distribution, protection schemes, and relay coordination for both substations.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing substation and construction (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NESC, IEC).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
