Jobs in Canada: Google Cloud Developer

Google is looking for a Google Cloud Developer to join the team and work in Ontario and Waterloo, Canada for 2021. As a Google Cloud Developer, Developer Relations you will stand at the intersection of technology growth - between the people who build it and the customers who use it. As a Developer, Developer Relations you will be on the engineering wing of Developer Relations, helping ensure that Google Cloud and related open source projects for developers are excellent. In this role, you will help practitioners build connected cloud infrastructure that is more secure and scalable. You will also advocate for the needs of these practitioners to the Google Cloud Product and Engineering teams to ensure that the products are built to meet the community's needs and provide the best possible user experiences.

1. Manage open source projects and provide guidance to third-party developers in troubleshooting integrations with Google APIs and other Google developer products.
2. Advocate for developers internally and help influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Go-to-Market, Engineering, Support, PR, Marketing, Business Development, and other cross-functional teams.
3. Participate in networking communities actively as a practitioner having, or developing, a deep understanding of that community’s needs.
4. Represent the needs of the networking communities throughout the entire product lifecycle - including input on design discussions, customer zero testing, launch, and post-launch updates.

1. 3 years of practitioner-level experience in networking operations, building and managing cloud infrastructure, and/or platform engineering.
2. Experience building and driving consensus across teams.

Preferred qualifications:

1. Relevant work experience speaking at technology conferences, blogging/writing technical articles with an existing follower base, or contributing to popular open source projects.
2. Able to work globally and collaboratively in a team environment, to be diplomatic, and to influence technical practitioners, stakeholders, and globally distributed teams.
3. Proven ability to empathize with technical practitioners, including but not limited to network engineers, operators, site reliability engineers.
4. Ability to distill complex topics into digestible pieces.
5. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
