MENA Recruit is offering a job opportunity as a Business Development Assistant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Business Development Assistant is responsible for meeting the practice and business development needs of the Middle East and Asia marketing teams. The Business Development Assistant is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the Firm’s lawyers and staff and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Business Development Assistant must fulfil the needs of the Firm in a manner that is consistent with the Firm’s Core Values.
Duties & responsibilities
- Perform various administrative tasks for the Middle East and Asia BD teams including research, maintaining the Firm’s contacts database (InterAction), budget requests, processing of invoices, updating mailing lists and activity reports and other administrative duties.
- Assist with the preparation of business development presentations, briefings and new business proposals. Maintain a library of collateral materials and marketing information about the practices.
- Coordinate updates of the practice materials and the lawyers' biographies on the firm’s external website and internal proposal database.
- Maintain current and accurate experience lists, descriptions and case studies for use in marketing and business development efforts.
- Assist with practice, industry and office-related events, sponsorships and memberships to facilitate the development of the practices and to increase local visibility.
- Assist with the drafting and formatting of submissions for legal directories - including Chambers and Legal 500 – and awards.
- Assist with the production and edits of client alerts, newsletters, updates and invitations, working with the firm’s marketing technology and design teams.
- Generally, facilitate communication among and between the practices.
- Flexibility around working hours (e.g., assisting at client events).
Eligibility criteria
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions.
- Commitment to professional growth and development.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a full workload, work independently and as a member of teams, and complete tasks in a timely manner often under time constraints.
- Strong organisation skills.
- Strong work ethic and service orientation.
- Poise, tact, discretion and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
- Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential; experience with InterAction is preferred. Full training will be provided to use the Firm’s main platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-2 years of related marketing experience, preferably in a law or professional services firm
Benefits:
- Salary 10,000 to 17,000 AED per month.
- Flexible with candidates that have previously been a secretary looking to move across or admin assistant.
- Not essential to have marketing experience.
