Netflix network is offering a job opportunity in Los Angeles, California, as it is looking for a Senior Narrative Designer at Night School Studio.

Drive the creation of content across multiple disciplines by maintaining the holistic view of our product and distilling it into concise and clear documentation. This is the perfect role for someone looking to collaborate and learn alongside artists, designers, and engineers to produce compelling and memorable narrative.

• Design and implement creative and engaging narrative moments, dialogue, and cinematics for story-driven games
• Work with design to define the structural requirements and layout for sections of the game
• Write and maintain guides and documentation for internal use to increase understanding of the story and design elements across the project
• Communicate with multiple stakeholders and identify areas for improvement and support

• Passionate about story-telling and interactive media
• Understands the ins and outs of game design, including level construction, mechanics, and documentation
• Proficient at communication, negotiation, and diplomacy.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-discipline environment
• Writing skills in game dialogue, cinematics, and prose
• Experienced in both design and narrative

Skills & Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in writing and designing narrative games, with a preference for titles with branching narrative and multiple outcomes
• Willingness to learn and master the in-house tools, workflows, and processes at Night School
• Passion and understanding of narrative structures and how to apply them in games and other interactive storytelling methods
• Strong sense of scene pacing and cinematography
• Able to take direction well, and own and drive tasks when necessary
• Experience writing scripts, barks, cinematics, found narrative, or other forms of interactive storytelling

Nice to Haves:

• Ability to bring diverse perspectives and personal experiences to our team
• Skills as a 2D or 3D artist
• Understanding of game development pipelines outside of your discipline
• Experience in developing and writing emergent narratives
• Desire to create innovative new ways to tell interactive stories
