Opportunity description

Walt Disney offers an internship opportunity as corporate tax systems Intern in a period from January through July 2022. If you are passionate about accounting, finance, tax, or other related majors and have the ability to work effectively with colleagues and business partners in a remote working environment, this is your chance to working side-by-side with industry leaders in your field of study. This is your way to a Professional Internship with Disney Corporate.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for making an impact by:

  1. Acting as an embedded team member within Disney’s Tax Systems Team.
  2. Supporting the preparation of the company’s federal, state, and international income tax returns and e-file commitments.
  3. Assisting in the administration, maintenance, development, troubleshooting, and testing of Tax systems.
  4. Assisting in implementing process improvements or new software development.
  5. Drafting user manuals for the department to outline Standard Operating Guidelines.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Currently pursuing (or recently graduated within 6 months) a Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or other related major.
  • OR currently pursuing (or recently graduated within 6 months) a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or other related major, paired with:
  • One or more parts of the CPA exam were taken and passed.
  • OR at least one previous internship or other accounting/tax experience with a CPA firm or medium-large corporation.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Interest in tax and technology.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Access).
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and business partners in a remote working environment.
  • You are preferred to have:
  • Tax accounting knowledge.
  • Previous internship or other accounting/tax experience with a CPA firm or medium-large corporation.
  • Knowledge of applications such as SAP, Onesource, Workfront, Sharepoint, Tableau, etc.
  • Knowledge of SQL, database tools, reporting tools, and other application tools and languages.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
