World Food Programme is offering a Paid Internship Opportunity in Lebanon: Gender and Social Inclusion Intern.
Internship Duration:
The internship will be for the period of 8 months from 1 June 2023
Duties & responsibilities
- Assist in facilitating research, analysis and reporting of the gender and social inclusion
- Assist in the desk review and proof reading of the Gender and social inclusion studies and knowledge management products
- Coordinate with the COMET programme and IT teams to develop the CO Gender and Social Inclusion electronic newsletter
- Assist in the completion of gender, age, and disability markers-monitoring phase
- Assist In the implementation of the 16 days of activism and international women’s day
- Assist in drafting the gender annual reports
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Eligibility criteria
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme from a recognised university and have completed at least two years of the programme. Candidates should have attended classes in the past 12 months
- Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (for example, a master’s degree) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the past 12 months
- Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university
- Be fluent in English.
- Fluency in other WFP official and working languages is always an asset and may be an additional
- Be fit to travel to, and work at, the duty station of the internship
- Not be sons, daughters, brothers or sisters of WFP employees
- The Programme will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education
Required Skills:
- Currently enrolled, or recently graduated (within the past twelve months) in bachelor’s degree in Data Science, International Relations, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Political Science, Development Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, or other relevant fields.
- Computer skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others).
- Flexible and open to learning and new experiences.
- Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions.
- Previous experience in volunteer work, internship would be highly regarded
