Part Time Job at IRC: General Practitioner in Libya

IRC is offering a job opportunity as a part-time General Practitioner in Libya.

Under the supervision of Senior Medical Team Leader, the General Practitioner is responsible for:

1. Assessing, Diagnosing and Treating patients with available primary and reproductive health clinical capacity.
2. Provide professional medical care to the highest quality and in accordance with national and international laws, protocols, and standards.
3. Provide daily curative services for general diseases at detention centres/ internally displaced people’s camps or Primary health care centres for minor cases and refer more severe cases to other specialized service provider.
4. Conduct home visits for medical consultation of beneficiaries if required
5. Ensure proper and clear documentation of clinical findings and treatment plans
6. Support the needs of systems and databases as required to ensure proper care of patients
7. Perform tasks as needed by the direct supervisor that are relevant to the position

1. Bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery with a valid practice license from Libyan Ministry of Health
2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working as medical doctor (GP)
3. Relevant experience working at NGOs with similar role is an advantage
4. Good understanding of the principles of health care services levels, diagnostic procedures, Libyan health systems, healthcare providers in all sectors, and medical case definitions.
5. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with daily travel to different field sites in Shahat
6. Capacity and flexibility to work under pressure and difficult conditions
7. Effective team player with public interest driven orientation
8. Basic skills in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
9. Self-directed, able to independently set priorities and solve problems with minimal guidance
10. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in both Arabic & English
11. Understand IRC Way, standards for professional conduct; Integrity, Service, Accountability
