About the Group
UNOPS has entered into an agreement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to support the implementation of activities under the Global Programme on Nature for Development.
This programme brings together the Equator Initiative, National Biodiversity Initiative, and Global Forest Initiative under one unified framework. Its objective is to identify, support, and scale nature-based solutions that contribute to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at local, national, and global levels.
The programme supports UNDP’s Strategic Plan by promoting sustainable development through the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of biodiversity and ecosystems, while advancing inclusive and effective democratic governance of natural resources.
Role Purpose
Under the supervision of the designated supervisor, the Programme Management Associate (E-Learning and Instructional Design) will support the implementation of e-learning and capacity-building activities under the Global Programme on Nature for Development.
The role contributes to effective programme delivery by providing coordination, monitoring, and content support for digital learning initiatives. This includes assisting with interactive learning materials, organizing learning activities, and preparing programme-related outputs. The position supports senior team members to ensure learning activities are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and align with programme objectives.
Duties & responsibilities
Support the delivery of global e-learning and capacity-building activities under a high-profile biodiversity and sustainable development programme
Support the creation and updating of interactive learning materials and visual knowledge products using tools such as Genially
Work with a global, multidisciplinary team across UNDP, UNOPS, and partner organizations
Functions / Key Results Expected
Support coordination of e-learning and capacity-building activities delivered by partners and vendors
Assist the instructional designer in creating and updating interactive learning materials and visual knowledge products using Genially, Canva, and similar tools
Support development of storyboards, scripts, assessments, and interactive learning elements
Track learning deliverables, timelines, and participant engagement
Assist in organizing and delivering virtual learning events, webinars, and online workshops
Help maintain learning management systems (LMS), course records, and participant databases
Support collection and consolidation of learning data, feedback, and monitoring information
Assist in preparing progress reports, presentations, and briefing materials
Support knowledge-management activities, including documenting lessons learned and good practices
Eligibility criteria
Education Requirements
Secondary school (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience, OR
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in:
arts, law, environmental management/sciences, international relations, political science, human resources, business, management, social studies, development, or other fields relevant to biodiversity planning and research under the Global Programme on Nature for Development
Experience Requirements
Relevant experience includes work (conceptual or practical) in one or more of the following areas:
Environment, nature, natural resource management
Programme management, biodiversity, climate change
Human, civil, indigenous, or women’s rights
E-learning, digital learning programmes, capacity building
Public information, civil society engagement, education
Experience using digital content creation or e-learning authoring tools such as Genially, Canva, Prezi, Adobe, Articulate, iSpring, or similar is required.
