The Regional Director 2026 position with the United Nations Development Coordination Office in Jordan is an international leadership opportunity focused on coordinating sustainable development strategies and regional cooperation among United Nations agencies in the Arab region. Duties & responsibilities
- Lead regional coordination efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Support Resident Coordinators and United Nations Country Teams.
- Build partnerships with governments, international organizations, and the private sector.
- Develop regional development strategies and policies.
- Lead digital transformation and innovation efforts within the United Nations system.
- Manage regional teams and oversee performance and budgets.
- Support crisis management, strategic planning, and future foresight initiatives.
Eligibility criteria
- Master’s degree in international relations, public administration, law, social sciences, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in development cooperation.
- Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience.
- At least 5 years of field experience in international development.
- Experience in change management and institutional reform.
- Experience working with governments, international organizations, and the private sector.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Arabic language skills are preferred.
- Experience in the Arab region is considered an advantage.
