The United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) announces an international job opportunity for the position of Regional Director in Istanbul, Turkey. Duties & responsibilities
- Lead the United Nations regional coordination office in Istanbul.
- Support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across the region.
- Coordinate with governments, international organizations, and UN agencies.
- Manage regional teams and oversee programmes and projects.
- Develop international partnerships, funding opportunities, and multilateral cooperation.
- Support United Nations offices and country teams in planning and implementation.
- Prepare strategic reports and monitor performance and results.
- Lead innovation and digital transformation initiatives within development programmes.
- Manage resources and budgets while ensuring operational efficiency.
- Represent the United Nations in regional and international meetings and events.
Eligibility criteria
- Master’s degree or an advanced qualification in international relations, public administration, law, social sciences, or a related field.
- Or a bachelor’s degree with additional relevant experience.
- At least 15 years of experience in international development coordination.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in international leadership positions.
- At least 5 years of field experience in international development.
- Experience in programme management, institutional reform, and organizational change.
- Experience in international partnerships, funding, and sustainable development.
- Proficiency in the English language; Russian is considered an additional advantage.
