Deloitte is offering a job opportunity in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as a Resource Manager. Resource Managers operate Nationally and are aligned to an offering/practice within Risk Advisory. The Resource Manager (RM) is responsible for executing on all staffing processes, liaising and providing advisory support on client requests, to ensure optimum project matches are made and productivity goals are achieved. This requires critical thinking and plenty of creative problem solving, as each staffing decision must be made in consideration of the business, project and practitioner needs.
Duties & responsibilities
The Resource Manager will:
- Optimize utilization across the assigned Offering(s) by making strategic staffing recommendations and decisions
- Understand client needs and negotiate where necessary. Be adaptable to varied client personalities and situations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of practitioner interests and preferences and stay closely connected to them to stay abreast of personal circumstances and changes in these preferences
- Proactively review and understand your staffing position to provide meaningful insights on trends, forecast, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concer
- Seek opportunities to contribute to the achievement of the business’ or the Firm’s initiatives, goals and/or priorities.
- Maintain a solid understanding of your offering pipeline, plan and forecast in order to manage available resources and advise on future supply and demand
Eligibility criteria
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a resource management, project management, or recruitment role preferably within a professional services environment.
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma.
- A passion for client service and focused achievement of business results.
- Strong relationship building and conflict resolution skills with experience engaging leaders at all levels and partnering effectively with internal teams.
- Strategic and innovative thinking skills with strong problem-solving and project management skills, including the ability to understand the financial impact of relevant options
- Ability to work and navigate effectively in a matrix organization/partnership structure.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with large teams.
- Skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, charts etc.) and willing to embrace technology.
