Opportunity description

Disney is offering Communications internship in Kissimmee, Florida, United States. Disney Live Entertainment is a team of entertainment professionals that imagines, creates, designs, produces, casts, costumes and operates the live entertainment offerings in our Disney parks and resorts worldwide and on board our Disney cruise ships. We work in a dynamic, creative, innovative and collaborative environment and together, we bring Disney magic to life.

Duties & responsibilities

The Communications Intern is responsible for providing tactical support to the Disney Live Entertainment Communications team, assisting in the development and implementation of communication plans, messaging, and activations that support business objectives and effectively engage internal and external audiences. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Provide graphic and organizational support for Disney Live Entertainment internal tactics including Good News, Extraordinary Playlist, Snapshot, and others
  2. Produce visual and editorial content in support of Disney Live Entertainment social media and internal digital platforms such as The Lobby and Maingate Gallery monitors
  3. Attend on-site rehearsals and photo/video shoots as needed in support of new projects
  4. Assist with media events and openings
  5. Support Disney Live Entertainment initiatives and communication activations as needed

Eligibility criteria

  1. Junior or Senior or recent graduate of a Bachelor’s Program in the field of study related to communications, public relations, journalism, or equivalent.
  2. Excellent presentation, writing/positioning, and editing skills
  3. Well versed in AP Style, grammar, and punctuation
  4. Proven ability to maintain confidential information and interface with team members at all levels, including Executives
  5. Ability to perform tasks independently with strategic oversight
  6. Demonstrated leadership, organizational and project management skills; proven ability to meet deadlines
  7. Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  8. Strong computer proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  9. Prior Disney Parks Cast Member experience
  10. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  11. Ability to be flexible with work schedule including days, night and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using social media and new technologies
  • Graphic design experience
