Opportunity description

Disney is offering a Data Analytics Related internship in Shanghai, Mainland China.

Students who is looking for Data Analyst internship will have opportunity to join Marketing (Consumer Insight), Revenue Management & Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Merchandise (Merchandise Planning) department. The results of data analysis or the proposed solutions will help the strategic development and decision-making of Shanghai Disney Resort. Interns will be involved in resort marketing delivery, digital strategy of sales and content development, or optimization of customer experience in Theme Parks, Hotels and Disney Town, massive online and offline data mining/exploration/visualization.  

Duties & responsibilities

  • Marketing (Consumer Insight): You will be responsible for data consolidation and analytics for Consumer Insight team, work scope mainly includes regression test and regular reporting, which aims to provide valuable study and insight for Shanghai Disney Resort.
  • Revenue Management & Analytics: You will help to collect and analyze performance of existing products, generate insights and make recommendation to new product design, and define revenue management strategies in order to ensure optimal profitability
  • Industrial Engineering: You will support team in analytical role by making use of comprehensive knowledge, methodology and tools of Industrial Engineering. You need apply computer skills at a broad level, including spreadsheets, databases, and graphical presentation applications and can oversee development of models using advanced analytical tools to drive continuous efficiency and productivity improvement in operation.
  • Merchandise (Merchandise Planning): You will support planners with sales reports to do in depth analysis for performance, working with sourcing partners on how to ensure right costing for products to obtain good margin and working with location planning team to ensure right product assortment mix to right locations, planning optimum inventory for products and liquidation plans on items that don’t meet the planned sales.

Eligibility criteria

  • Major in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to perform on-site research, data collection and analysis
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Database,
  • Be positive, have good interpersonal skills and high confidentiality
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • To commit 3 working days attendance per week
