E T Consultant opportunities require candidates to have strong experience in developing and implementing effective communications strategies. This person will be part of the ECRIN communications team and reports to the ECRIN Manager, while working closely with the Communications Leads and Business Line Focal Points. The ETC is expected to be based in Washington, DC.

Duties and Accountabilities

• In coordination with colleagues across the institution, support the crafting of key positioning speeches or presentations for senior leadership, including by identifying additional relevant internal and external research, analysis, and trends.
• Support planning, coordination, and implementation of high-level meetings, events, and missions for the Vice Presidents and Global Departments and contribute to a continuous dialogue across relevant stakeholder constituencies; participate in and provide read-outs from various related events/meetings.
• Monitor global political and economic trends and developments of general infrastructure and relevant development topics in major international news outlets, technical publications, wire services, broadcast, and social media.
• Gather and analyze information and identify potential opportunities for thematic positioning in public fora and monitor for potential risk to the WBG’s reputation.
• Develop impact stories, social media content and talking points around initiatives carried out by the two VPUs and the Global Departments within their purview.
• Write and edit blogs and results stories.
• As needed, support the ECRIN unit with other ad hoc projects or tasks.
