Opportunity description
This scholarship is offered by the ANU College of Health and Medicine & the ANU College of Science. The scholarship has been generously established by Mr Jon Nicholson, in memory of his late father, Dr Angus Nicholson.
The scholarship shall be valued at $5000 or an amount as agreed from time to time between the University and Mr Jon Nicholson. The scholarship shall be paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester for two consecutive academic semesters.
Applicants must:
[1] Have an outstanding academic record.
[2] Be able to show a passion for his/her chosen field of Science.
[3] Organize two references from people who are well placed to support the application and comment on their passion.
When making a recommendation the selection committee will take into account:
[1] The field of study in which the applicant has expressed interest.
[2] The availability of appropriate supervision for a scholar in that field of study.
[3] The applicant’s academic record in science.
[4] Supporting material supplied by the applicant which demonstrates the passion for science.
[5] The reports of two referees familiar with the applicant’s academic work and passion for science.
