The scholarship was established to support and reward International Students of the highest academic ability in further study at Lincoln University. There are more than 20 scholarships available for the 2018 academic year and are payable by way of a credit to the recipients’ Lincoln University Tuition Fees account upon confirmed enrolment.

The scholarship will be awarded based on Academic excellence, which is defined as having a B grade or Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 70% or higher in their entrance qualification or prior program of study. To be eligible to apply you must be:

[1] A new to Lincoln University International Student who is planning to enroll in a Bachelor's degree in 2018.

[2] Not in receipt of any other scholarship

[3] Meet all Lincoln University entrance requirements to any Lincoln University Bachelor program, and students who are currently enrolled in the Diploma in University Studies, and who gain entrance into a Bachelor degree program commencing in 2018 are eligible to apply.

Successful applicants will receive scholarships worth NZ$5,000 for this academic year. Payments shall be made by way of two equal payments of $2,500 per semester and will be made at the beginning of each academic semester upon enrolment in their chosen degree. This scholarship is considered to be a partial payment of total fees charged, meaning that successful scholarship applicants are required to pay any remaining fees themselves.

Lincoln University was founded in 1878 as a School of Agriculture, and it's the New Zealand's third oldest university. The institution was initially linked to Canterbury College, welcoming its first intake of students in 1880. In 1961, the University was officially renamed Lincoln College, becoming a constituent college of the University of Canterbury. Later, Lincoln University formally separated from the University of Canterbury and became the self-governing national university that it is today. For 2017/18 year, Lincoln's ranking is 319 in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. Lincoln also has QS Five Stars rating and ranks in the top 50 in the subject areas of Agriculture and Forestry.
