17th Busan International Film Festival and a Chance to Win Amazing Prizes

Film Freeway is pleased to announce the events of the 17th Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival (BIKY) will be held 8 to 17 July 2022 in Busan, the second biggest city in South Korea. BIKY is the only young festival in Korea that has provided a venue for young audiences to communicate through various films from all over the world. This is your chance to submit your film and be one of the winners.

Festival Sections:

• Competition:
• Ready~Action: Short films by young directors under the age of 18.
• Non-competition: Feature and short by professionals.
• Staying Together: Films focused on conflict and harmony within communities.
• Finding Myself: Films take a journey to discover real identities.
• Embrace the Difference: Films that tell ways to embrace differences and respect each other.
• Beyond the Boundary: Films that show exciting and meaningful adventures.
• Asian Panorama: A celebration of Asian children and youth films in various styles.
• Open Cinema: Family film collection for open-air cinema.
• Reborn the BIKY: 
• Non-competition shorts by young directors under the age of 18.

If you are among the winners, you will have:

• Competition: (Ready~Action! Award)
• National : 3 Main awards will be selected by juries in each part of 'Ready~Action! 12/15/18'.
• International: 1 Main award will be selected in each part of 'Ready~Action! 12/15/18'.
• Non-competition: (Heart on Award)
• 1 Feature & 1 Short are selected by juries in the each of 4 sections(Staying Together/Finding Myself/Embrace the Difference/Beyond the Boundary).
• Special Award:
• Asia Tie-up award: 1 student film selected by juries composed of Asia-tie up network.
• Samir NASR Scholarship: To encourage young filmmakers.
• Best Storytelling Scholarship: To encourage young talented story-teller.

You must follow these criteria:

• Short film's length within 30 minutes.
• All films should be completed in 2021 and 2022.

Timeline:

• Opening Date: January 24, 2022.
• Regular Deadline: March 16, 2022.
• Notification Date: May 2, 2022.
• Event Date: July 8 – 17, 2022.
