Film Freeway is pleased to announce the events of the 7th Siding Festival of Film in its 3rd edition. The festival will run in four parts with one screening a month over four months as well, it will be held outdoors for social distancing. You can submit films which be any genre including drama, documentary, animated, music video, virtual reality, experimental, and student.

Please note: 7th Siding Festival of Film is a volunteer-run festival with a very low budget, it is not for profit and is part of the Kootenay Film Society.

Eligibility criteria
You should follow these terms:
- Enter your film in one category only.
- The festival has a special interest and preference in submissions that are 'Rural' and or remotely produced locations outside of urban centers.
- 7th Siding defines ‘Rural’ and remote films as those with a focus on and/or produced in non-urban environments.
- Films can be any genre including drama, documentary, animation, experimental, music video, student.
- Films must be Independently produced.
- Student films and film school submissions are welcome.
- If your film is a Student project, enter it in the ‘Student Category’ only.
- Foreign-language films must be English subtitled. No over-dubbing, please.
- The Filmmaker authorizes the Festival to use a short clip less than 30 seconds for promotional purposes only.
- Films seen as containing gratuitous scenes of violence, racism, sexual assault, exploitation, or political extremism will be declined.
Timeline:
- Opening Date: February 28, 2022.
- Regular Deadline: April 11, 2022.
- Notification Date: August 1, 2022.
- Event Date: November 18 – 21, 2022.
