ASIA WORLD (AWMUN) is a Model United Nations Competition held by International Global Network (IGN), a Non-Governmental Organization and Event Organizer based in Indonesia. Entering its first annual session, AWMUN aims to bring together more than 1000 young people from all across the world to experience diplomacy in multiculturalism. With the theme a Defying Commonality: Unfolding Extraordinary Potentials, AWMUN aims to celebrate the spirit of diversity through various events it holds. AWMUN 2018 will take place in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, from 11th until 15th of August, 2018.
It will offer a unique experience for delegates participating in AWMUN to gain Model United Nation (MUN) skills that are needed for the conference. In order to familiarize how MUN works, especially for the first-timers, an extensive and detailed MUN 101 and Zero Conference will be conducted before the competition starts. Guided by experienced and friendly Directors and Assistant Directors from different countries, delegates will experience a comprehensive diplomacy experience as well as gain new knowledge.
Entering its first annual session, AWMUN aims to provide a platform for young people, not only those who wish to become diplomats, to make them understand the ongoing international issues and policies that our world is facing. Through lengthy and fruitful debates and discussions between them, the delegates who come from different countries, different backgrounds and different perspectives will listen to many opinions and solutions voiced out by them, and they will know how to resolve those issues with the solutions that are applicable for everyone through diplomacy and consensus. MUN conference also provide an atmosphere where participants can improve their communication and diplomatic skill, critical thinking, and networking.
AWMUN team understand that young people have extraordinary potentials that have yet to be developed, so through the series of events that will be held in Asia World MUN 2018, the delegates will be able to find out their true potentials and they are encouraged to develop it for the betterment of the world. AWMUN 2018 will not be an ordinary MUN which emphasize only on competition; but AWMUN 2018 will become the most suitable platform for the delegates to learn new things throughout the series of events we will hold.
