Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation Prize for Arab Researchers 2018

Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation invites Arab researchers to participate in the first Arab prize for scientific research, and through this prize the foundation seeks to support scientific research in the Arab world. It also aims to participate in preparing and inspiring a generation of researchers, experts, and specialists in different scientific areas with the limited resources that institutions and individuals have. The foundation recognizes exceptional scientific research that will lead to increased scientific and applied knowledge, as well as contribute to solving problems with a priority locally and internationally and spread the culture of scientific research. The prize includes 6 areas: Medical and Health Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Basic Sciences, Literature and Humanities, Social and Educational Sciences, Technological and Agricultural Sciences, and Economic and Administrative Sciences. Applicants must be Arabs or of an Arab origin regardless of their place of residency, and must have submitted scientific research in Arabic or English in an Arab country in the last 5 years. An experienced jury selected by the scientific committee of the prize will do the evaluation based on a criteria that makes sure there will be objectivity and credibility. Master’s and PhD research will not be considered while evaluating. 

The winner will receive $20,000, in addition to a certificate and a shield. If 2 winners are worthy of the prize, each will receive a certificate and a shield with the financial reward divided between both.
