Opportunity description
Aesthetica Magazine offers both emerging and established artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience through the the Aesthetica Art Prize. The award attracts thousands of entries in a range of innovative media from locations as diverse as Australia, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the UK and the USA. Aesthetica Art award invites submissions into four categories:
[1] Photographic & Digital Art: Including but not limited to photography, digitally manipulated work, neon work.
[2] Three Dimensional Design & Sculpture: Including but not limited to stone, glass, metal and wood work; ceramics, textiles.
[3] Painting, Drawing & Mixed Media: Including but not limited to painting, illustration, calligraphy, printmaking, collage.
[4] Video, Installation & Performance: Including but not limited to video, installation, performance art.
The judging process begins in September 2018. 100 artists are longlisted, out of which a selection of artists are shortlisted by January 2019. Longlisted artists receive publication in the Future Now Annual. Shortlisted artists receive publication and are invited to take part in a group exhibition. Artists selected for the exhibition will be responsible for all transportation and insurance costs of artworks.
Selection process:
Shortlisted artists compete for two awards: the Main Art Prize and the Emerging Art Prize. The Emerging Art Prize is open to current students and artists who have graduated within the last two years. The Main Art Prize is open to all, including those eligible for the Emerging Art Prize.
