The Africa 35.35 Awards invites African youth under 35 years old driving exceptional impact in Africa to participate in a 2-day leadership program and the Leadership Program and Award Ceremony from 24 to 25 November 2019 in Ghana. The Awards were created by the Association 3535, which designs and executes new initiatives that change the African innovation ecosystems. The Awards will bring together 35 participants among the most remarkable in Africa and the Afro Diaspora, to become the Young African Personality of the Year. Public announcement of the winner will be in mid-July.

Eligibility criteria:
- Participants must be from Africa or the Afro Diaspora, under 35 years old.
- They also must agree to cover their travel costs to and from Ghana while the Association covers 100% of the stay at no further cost. International participants need to confirm their willingness to cover the expenses as follows: “I agree to cover my travel costs to and from Ghana in November to attend the awards ceremony. Should I have a last-minute emergency, I agree to select a person in my current country of residence and within my circle of work to represent me”.
- Participants can join the competition, and they can have someone familiar with them and their work to nominate them.
Selection criteria:
An international and independent jury comprised of personalities is in charge of selecting the winners, according to the following 3 criteria: Demonstrated leadership (20%), Innovative nature of work (30%), Positive impact (50%).
Prize:
The African Young Personality of the Year will receive a cash prize and special media exposure. All winners will receive a trophy, a certificate and a complimentary stay in Ghana around a leadership/capacity building program.
