An Opportunity to Win €30,000 in Łódź Young Fashion Award

ŁÓDŹ YOUNG FASHION AWARD 2019 is calling all young fashion designers rom all over the world – especially students and graduates of artistic and fashion design schools – and all those for whom design is a passion to participate in this year´s contest. This contest encourages new emerging fashion designers to take their first step on the path of business activities aimed at creating one's own brand. 

Theme

This year's theme of the contest is METROPOLIS. It is a synonym of contradictions, a clash of what is pure and beautiful with disgusting ugliness, temporariness and chaos. It delights with shapes, colours and sounds. It is emptiness, and at the same time an overwhelming excess. Can fashion draw inspiration from the big city's hustle and bustle? Or perhaps the alliance of fashion and architecture will result in an array of interesting projects? a question to which your designs have the answers.

Award

The winner will receive the MANEQUINE 2019 statuette and a financial prize of 30,000 EURO, funded by the City of Łódź.

Selection criteria

Participants must present a collection to the jury, which includes renowned designers and representatives of the fashion industry. The judges will particularly consider: an original idea and and the avant-garde thinking, the use of new technologies, techniques as well as the use of modern and avant-garde materials.

Note: The Final Gala of the International Contest "Łódź Young Fashion Award" 2019 will be held in 26th October 2019 in The Fashion Promotion Centre, the Academy of Fine Arts Łódź in (Wojska Polskiego Street 121).
