The Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards invites writers from all over the world with outstanding works that contribute to our understanding of racism and our appreciation of cultural diversity to participate in the competition for 2019. Awards are given for fiction, poetry and nonfiction.
Eligibility criteria:
[1] Awards are given in fiction, poetry and nonfiction
[2] All submitted materials become the property of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards and will not be returned
[3] No electronic submissions of an author’s work of any kind are accepted
[4] Books must be written in English and published and copyrighted in 2018 to be eligible for the 2019 prize
The following are NOT eligible for consideration:
[1] Plays
[2] Screenplays
[3] Works in progress
[4] Manuscripts
[5] Print-on-demand
[6] Electronically published or e-books
[7] Self-published works
Award:
Winners will receive a prize of $10,000 at a ceremony in Cleveland in September. They are all required to participate in media interviews and publicity opportunities in conjunction with the prize. Publishers are encouraged to congratulate their winners in advertisements and social media, and to mention the prize in new editions, general publicity and web posts about their winning authors.
