The Arab Scientific Center for Research and Humanities organizes the fifth edition of the Ibn Rushd Academy Conference, in the context of the current reality of the Middle East and North Africa. The conference will be held in Morocco and will discuss the problem of institutions promoting comprehensive economic development in the Middle East and North Africa, which are not directly affected by the refugee crisis.
The Moroccan version of the Ibn Rushd Academy Conference will be held during the period from 2 to 6 December 2018 in Rabat / Morocco. The Academy represents a diverse scientific encounter that includes workshops, lectures and visits to civil society organizations. The Academy's program aims at providing participants with the necessary skills to write and formulate policy papers and make recommendations that will achieve desired reforms in the Arab world.
selection criteria:
Candidates must:
[1] Have the nationality of one of the following countries: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, GCC countries, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine.
[2] Not be more than 35 years of age.
[3] Hold at least a master's degree in economics, political or social sciences.
[4] Have experience both in research centers, civil society organizations from the Arab world.
The Arab Scientific Center for Research and Humanities will cover the following:
[1] 95% of airline tickets upon arrival of participants.
[2] Breakfast, lunch, and accommodation in a single room at a 4-star hotel during the days of the conference.
[3] Opening Dinner.
Note: Participants will bear the remaining costs including visa fees and travel from and to the airport.
Candidates wishing to participate in the Academy's activities should send the following documents:
[1] Recent CV.
[2] Identifying the problem and drafting of a paper (500 words at least) from an angle related to the subject of Ibn Rushd Academy for the year "Institutions and Economic Development". The problem identified by the participant is an input to the formulation of the policy paper that will be formulated during the training stages.
