Are you a school student aged between 13 and 18? Do you understand an important scientific theory, concept or principle, and you think you can Can you explain this scientific idea with a short film?
Breakthrough Prize Foundation welcomes you to this year's challenge, which is to explain a big scientific idea with a short video. Students from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos, that bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics. The submissions are judged on the student’s ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in engaging, illuminating, and imaginative ways.
Eligibility criteria:
To be eligible, you must be at least 13 years of age and cannot be older than 18 years of age on October 1, 2018. The Breakthrough Junior Challenge requires you to create a short video of 3 minutes as a maximum length, to explain a big idea in Physics ,Mathematics or Life Sciences. Your film can take any form you like: animation, talking head, documentary, dramatic reconstruction.
The videos will be judged according to the following criteria:

[2] Illumination
[3] Creativity
[4] Difficulty
What successful applicants will gain:
Successful participant or best video will receive money prizes, which the total approximate retail value is $400,000. In addition, the winner and his parent or guardian will be awarded a trip to receive their award at the live televised
ceremony in November of 2018.
The following are the amount of prizes:
[1] $250,000 post-secondary scholarship
[2] $50,000 prize for the winner's teacher, who has inspired the winner in the field of science or mathematics
[3] $100,000 Breakthrough Science Lab, for the renovation or addition of a science lab at winners school
The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual competition for students around the world, to inspire creative thinking about science. The Breakthrough Prize was created to honor important advancements in the categories of Fundamental Physics, Life Sciences and Mathematics. The Breakthrough Prizes were founded by Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO and founder of Facebook. The Breakthrough Prize aims to celebrate the best scientific work and inspire the next generation of scientists.
