Pearl Initiative is inviting university students in the Gulf region to apply for a Case Study Competition. The competition for is university business students in the Gulf region to submit Case Studies of corporate good practices in accountability and transparency. The Case Study Competition is in line with the Pearl Initiative’s mission to grow a knowledgable base on regional responsible business practices and to enhance the capabilities of future business leaders.
The overall aims of the competition are to:
[1] Contribute to documenting and increasing knowledge on corporate accountability and transparency.
[2] Engage and inspire business students in understanding the real-life application of integrity, ethics, responsibility, governance, transparency and accountability within a business context.
[3] Improve the links between business students and companies.
[4] Reward student capability and performance.
[5] Recognise companies with accountable and transparent business practices.
Eligibility criteria:
[1] Undergraduate and graduate law or business students enrolled at an accredited University in the Gulf region are eligible to enter the competition.
[2] A team can be up to 3 students
[3] Competition entries must be in the form of a written Case Study (target 1,500 words) in English or Arabic
[4] The Case Study should describe an example of a fully implemented good practice within a company on one of the following Integrity-related policies:
- Anti-corruption policies
- Third party due diligence
- Ethical labour practices
- Anti-money laundering
[5] The Case Study can be on any corporate organization based in the Gulf region (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE), including state-owned entities, listed companies, private companies, family businesses, and small and medium-sized enterprises
