Climate Change Contest Prize of $25,000 and a Trip to the US 2018

Do you have a successful strategy for helping consumers reduce their carbon footprint through behavior change?

Solution Search is looking for solutions that apply behavior change insights to inspire and enable people to change the way they consume – the way they cook, eat, dispose of waste, purchase goods, travel and more. Innovators all over the world are already addressing climate change by inspiring individuals, households and communities to change their behavior, but the problem is that these grassroots solutions often go unnoticed. This is why Solution Search launched “Climate Change Needs Behavior Change” which is a worldwide contest to find and spotlight solutions that use behavior change to fight climate change. 

Campaigns and efforts to do something about climate change could be:

[1] Increasing plant-rich diets

[2] Reducing end-user food waste

[3] Increasing adoption of clean cook stoves

[4] Increasing demand for products such as locally-grown staple trees and crops grown through regenerative or conservation agriculture

[5] Reducing consumption of energy, water or relevant products such as paper or cotton

[6] Reducing greenhouse gas emitting behaviors among individuals, households and communities

Contest rules:

[1] If selected as the winner, applicant must agree to use the prize money to further the solution and organization’s goals

[2] If selected as the winner, applicant must agree to comply with all national and international laws governing the transfer of any prizes, monetary or otherwise, across national and international boundaries

[3] Applicants must agree to all terms of submission as described in the terms and conditions

Prizes:

Finalists will attend a capacity-building workshop and awards ceremony with some of the biggest names in conservation, development and behavioral science. Two prizes of $25,000 will be awarded according to the judges’ choice and the votes, in addition to attending a workshop in Washington DC with fellow change-makers to share solutions globally. All entrants will get the opportunity to partner with contest partners and judges.

Solution Search is an innovative contest which works to make solutions known to some of the world’s greatest conservation and development challenges in larger communities, and not remain on the local level. It believes that what is already working must be surfaced and spotlighted such that practitioners around the world can expand their impact as they replicate proven success.
