The Islamic Medical Association of North America is offering a writing competition for students who are currently studying in medical school. The applicant must choose one of the invented surgical instruments, describe its evolution over time, and how it impacts medicine today using Abu al-Qasim Al-Zahrawi’s publications. The essay must be original research by the applicant and not have been previously published or be in consideration by another journal/publication.
