Opportunity description

Facebook is offering an internship program in the United Kingdom and the United States for at least 12 weeks. The internship aims to make interns build new features that improve existing products like: Photos, Video, Groups, NewsFeed, Search, Mobile and Messaging, as well as make them solve unique, large-scale, highly complex technical problems. Applicants who are interested must be pursuing their PhD or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field. They must also have expertise in C++, Java, Perl, PHP or Python. The chosen applicant’s responsibilities will be:

[1] Code high-volume software using primarily C++ and Java

[2] Create web applications using primarily PHP

[3] Implement web interfaces using XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript

[4] Build report interfaces and data feeds
